PRACTICE

My process developed through experimentation. I spent hours drafting on paper, testing how paint could be pushed, dragged, layered, and repeated. During that process, I began using large syringes to draw directly with paint, controlling the weight and continuity of the line while still allowing variation and imperfection.

The trowel came from a more personal memory. My father was a mason, and I was always fascinated by the precision with which he could transform a rough surface into something smooth and controlled. I began using a trowel to scrape through the paint released from the syringe, allowing colors to merge, separate and reveal what lay beneath.

Through repetition, scraping and layering, control began to coexist with chance.
